Air Hugs: A Large-Scale Interactive Installation
Article PDF (1.39 MB)
Abstract
"This paper outlines the description for the Air Hugs project, which is a large-scale interactive installation that transforms the space around the passerby using actuated inflatables and computer vision. The author provides a historical overview of inflatables and specifically examines their use as a driver for innovative shifts in the discipline of architecture. The hug, throughout the paper, is appropriated as a discursive tool for framing the theoretical context and for describing novel ways of generating contemporary forms of experience through architectural performance."
