David Feldman teaches and performs research in mathematics at the University of New Hampshire. He has composed instrumental, vocal and computer-generated music. Much (but by no means all) of his music involves algorithmic processes, not for the sake of automating creativity, but rather to render audible subtle structural principles and distinctions. His recent focus concerns non-scale-based rational pitch systems. Feldman studied with Leo Kraft, Kryzstof Penderecki and Jonathan Kramer, among others.
